How does a good video card affect video editing?

I know how a cpu, memory, and hard disk affect video editing, but I'm not quite sure how a good video card could improve performance.

How much more productive can one be with a good video card as opposed to onboard graphics?|||A good video card is really important for video editing.

1. it would be faster to proces the video rather than onboard graphics. in other words, time saving.

2. you can see more from a good graphic cards. you can change your screen resolutions to the maximum settings. so you can noticed if there's something wrong with the video.|||10000000000% for real its a huge difference!
