Is ASUS EN8500GT silent magic a good video card?

my computer hangs up when i play a game. i have 2gb ram and core 2 quad processor. my computer hangs up and then restart.|||hangs up as in freezes??? what kind of game are you playing for card do you currently have??? might be your drivers out of date or faulty vga give or take...

in my opinion, the 8500 is a good card however for gaming nowadays your better off 2x 4870 as ATi takes the cake with the next gen videocards at the moment however if that out of your budget like most of us i would recommend the 8600GT it just abit more expensive then the 8500 but the difference in performance is alot.

i myself have also the same setup as you

Evga 790i Motherboard

Quad 6600 @ 3.8 o/c

2GB DDR3 1333mhz RAM

Nvidia Geforce GTX280 |||It's a great card for general use, but for gaming it's a bad choice, especially considering your otherwise high-end setup.

That is however unrelated to the computer hanging up problem. Does it happen with all (or most) of your games or is it just one game (if so what game is it)?|||you might have an overheat problem not a faulty vga card couse hangs up and restart after random time it indicates that your computer is running hot .........

1. go to any technician .. ask him to apply thermal past between possessor and the fan it will reduce heat ......

2. add some fans to your case to drive heat out ....

3. cool your vga card off by using a cheap fan ... normally geforce 8500 gt runs hot ..... i have one and it runs idle at 57C and in pressure 70C so it is normal ..........

4.change the place of your computer into a good air stream place ... near an AC for example .......... just dont leave it where no air is reaching .....

that it ..... |||yeh if u game then i would say atleast an 8800 GT
