How can you tell its a Good video card??

I'm in the market for a new memory card, i have a ati radeonX300 with 128 mb and i cant play games with it.(civ4)

I thought more memory means better product but i guess i'm wrong since i found two cards both with 512 mb but one cost 50 bucks and the other cost 1,000

So what should i be looking for to find a Really good card to play games with????

I have a dell with 1 gig ram (160 rom) on win Xp|||Here you go.

Memory size is only one component of performance.|||u need a video card not ram go to walmart and get a radeon 9250 video card for 64 $|||The ati x300 is a bit weak for modern games, even if it is pci-e.

Just so you know, indeed memory on the card is not everything. The cards are built with different features - you'll read about pipelines and shaders and so on.



So whatever your price range, be sure to get a pci-e type. And be sure that your power supply unit is strong enough for the card.
