Is having Two video cards better then having one really good video card?

I want to build a gaming PC. So i want to know if it would be better for me to buy 1 high end video card or 2 older (not to much older) video cards|||One good video card will do... two or more really only give you bragging rights! Since the second card may only give you 25-35% more than one card, its cheaper and easier to install a single good card that two lesser cards.|||Get just one card. Think of it this way: when you get enough money to get another card, you can put that in.

Two older cards will not last you very long and have only maybe 80% the ability of each card. Older cards have more power usage, so your computer will need a better power source.|||Just get one of the best video cards that you can afford now. If you were to buy 2 older cards, they would be outdated faster and you'd have to buy the better card anyways!|||one good card is best.

running two cards halves the bandwidth each card has.

i.e a normal pci e slot runs at 16x whereas if you have two cards in sli or crossfire x each gets turned to 8x bandwidth
