Whats a good video card to buy?

im building a new computer from newegg currently. im having a hard time deciding on what video card to buy. my price range is $100-$200, preferably as low as possible.

i just want a video card that can play any of the games out right now and future games. and i dont care if the grapgics are the BEST, just as long as i can play the game at HIgh or something.

any help would be appreciated, thanks|||The best graphics cards that fit ur budget right now are both the ati 4870 and the gtx 260. Both these card are great cards for the money with a slight edge to the 4870 for delivering both video and audio through the DVI to HDMI adapter. But if ur aren't into video playback both cards are fair game.

However with ATI's new line of GPUs coming u may want to hold, because with the launch of the GPUs both ATI and Nvidia cards will inevitably lower in price, and u possibly by a higher end card.|||At this point, you should just hold out until the end of September as ATI's new Radeon 5xxx series will be released. These cards are touted as being 1.6x faster than current gen ATI cards (this means they will be substantially faster than Nvidia's current gen as well).

It makes no sense at all to buy an older GPU with new parts right around the corner. At the very least you should wait until they are released even if you want an older GPU because Nvidia will have to adjust their current gen prices to remain competitive. I'm sure ATI will cut prices on their 4xxx series as well.

You will regret buying a GPU now only to have the price drop by $50 or more week or two later.|||Here is a great card at the top of your price point. I have this card currently and I can play any game out there at max settings with no problems.

I highly recommend this card as I have seen how it can perform.|||Well based on what you just told me you should be looking into the high 300 dollar range for that. So my advice would be to get the best 200 dollar card I could find.
